Peter de Maagt is an enthusiastic underwater photographer/scuba diver who uses his images to promote conservation of our underwater world. Peter started his photographic venture with a point and shoot compact camera and progressed to using DSLR. Currently he shoots with Nikon D500 and D800 DSLR cameras. Peter gives lectures about underwater photography to beginners as well as advanced shooters. His interest in diving and photography merged more than 10 years ago. Since then, this passion has taken him world-wide to experience the extremes of very cold and warm waters where he has had the privilege to experience different underwater biotopes. His photographs and articles have appeared in and on the cover of Duiken, and in Shark Diver, Dive Style, Diver UK and Scuba Diving Magazine and have been used by companies (Santi, Oceanwide Expeditions, EigenWijze Dive travel), newspapers and websites (Sharktrust, DuikeninBeeld). Peter’s interest in shark conservation and research intersected his professional career as an antenna engineer when he worked to design novel shark tagging technology Peter can be followed on www.facebook.com/peter.demaagt or www.instagram.com/pdemaagt/. |
