Author Michal Štros

About author Michal Štros - biologist, scientist and underwater photographer. At first he photographed large animals such as whales, sharks and seals, but gradually he discovered the bizarre world of the smallest marine species and focused his attention mainly on macro and close-up photography. He has won a number of awards in international underwater photography competitions, such as in the Ocean Art 2020/2021 and the International Film and Underwater Photography Festival PAF Tachov - Czech Republic - 2020/2021 and 2023/2024. Recently, he presented a new underwater photography technique using vintage lenses with the front element reversed (https://divemagazine.com/underwater-photography/unique-effects-of-modified-digital-lenses-underwater). He regularly exhibits and publishes his photographs in international magazines. Michal has also published a book "The World of Silence through the Lens of Underwater Art Photography" which can be purchased from the author (uw.art.michalstros@gmail.com) or on Amazon.
